I'm sure there was supposed to be Normandy Blue pinstripe on the pulley...

Definitely not but it looks ok I guess.. the actual color is up in the air I can't find any info on the color.. Kubota orange is good for me it's better than the rust color it used to be. Like I said it will just sit around for another 50 or so on years I don't really have a use for it

Could it be used to make a winch of some sort?

funny u asked I actually picked it up because I thought it was a winch. Someone had made a drum to fit one of the shafts and had the unit mounted to a bracke. When I started to disassemble it I was wondering how many pound pull it had when I came across the name Winkler super power transmission and there is very little info on the piece. It probably would work as a winch but I don't think it would have the power I'm looking for before something broke. I will just find an actual hydro winch something that is not Mickey moused together.

Likely you sold it to someone who knows what it's for but wouldn't tell you.  You didn't know the secret handshake, so you're not in the club, and neither are we!  LOL

I also am in need of information about this gear box.  I am working with an elderly lady who owns some low rent apartments that are heated with a coal boiler that uses this Winkler transmission but apparently is having problems.  I am trying to gather information that may help her in getting it back up and running.  Any information out there on these transmissions and their operation would be appreciated.  Also, if anyone knows of another for sale or someone who rebuilds?
