Hi all,
Thought I’d share some pics from south western Utah. smfulle, ruhockey19, and jpet got together for this years Winter Jamboree. Day 1 was Triple 7. Day 2 was Double Sammy. Here are some pics from both days. The big guy driving BAM BAM in some of the shots is our friend Kevin Boren and his daughter Katelyn is riding shot gun in some of the pics with Stan and Jesse. ... more Edited by jpet - 23 Jan. 2022 at 7:14am |

Great pix, thanks for sharing! We're thinking about a trip out to Sand Hollow sometime soon(ish) and I love getting new reference data!
That used to mean driving 54.0% of your wheelbase up a ramp. Originally I think it meant a 20 degree ramp (although I could be misremembering that), but later steeper ramp angles were used. I don't know if there's a standard anymore, or if the numbers are only specific to the equipment used to test it. But that is a pretty cool RTI (Ramp Travel Index) trailer! Lifting opposing tires eliminates the risk of rolling sideways off the ramp! And Bam Bam looks pretty cool on it! Not a very high percentage of vehicles will flex that!

Here are some shots from yesterday on Plan B:
I’m not sure what the 540 is. I’ve got a paper. I’ll look it over when I get a chance. It has to do with front axle flex (15” in my case), and rear axle flex (14”) Headed home after 6 days of western wheeling which included Texas and New Mexico. |

I think they put the multipliers on there to increase awesomeness or something. Edited by jpet - 16 Jan. 2022 at 10:43am |

It’s kinda surprising that you have more travel on the front than rear being you currently have longer springs on the rear. |

Stan, how have those sliders been holding up on you since you've put them on?
And it's funny everytime I see Bam Bam a little more beat up than the last time, and I remember seeing him a lot less dented, now he looks like he made it across the rhineland being dragged behind a halftrack but it looks awesome nonetheless!

Also, I was told that the 540 score is equal to the flex of a stock JL Edited by jpet - 18 Jan. 2022 at 1:47pm |

I for one, wouldn't give one second planning these feats. I loved my CJ-2A way too much to subject it to the possibility of making a mess out of it. Recently sold it to a fella in Rockford, Ill. Woulda tried here but posting pics is a nitemare.

Not really.....there are step by step instructions for it. One you post one or two following the procedure its not bad at all. Everybody seems to be wanting just a 'one click and my picture is posted' kind of thing. |
