Hey Guys,

I'm just throwing this out there... There is an old CJ in Meriden CT that will be scrapped and taken away by the City if we don't go rescue it :) I'm going Saturday morning at 9:00am to see what I can do.... Does anyone want to join me?? I cant guarantee anything, this is just a lead, but I'm hesitant to go alone... Is anyone in the area that would be willing to go with me for back-up??

Thank you!
Geoff

Here is a pic I got:

So your plan is to steal it before the city does? LOL

No, of course not! It was left behind by a previous tenant about 3 years ago, the homeowner wants it GONE!!!!

My apologies, G, but I'm having trouble keeping up, lol.

You know the homeowner, they gave you a free parts jeep... you don't want to go alone and need someone with a concealed carry permit why? Wink

(normally I'd be down for a caper, but this weekend is already pretty full Wacko)

From what I understand its in the back yard and would require some work to get it out.... I'm not sure I could physically manage pulling the thing out by myself... I will see what's involved on Sat. Here is the add: I don't know the homeowner or the area and it's on Craigslist, that's why I'm looking for back-up LOL

This sounds like fun. We rescue a Jeep & stand a chance at getting shot at! Except for the below issue, I am in!

I have to work 12 hours on Saturday & Sunday, I get off at 6:00. I have to be at work on Tuesday at 6:00 AM. However, the drive would kill me.

I have a truck and could rent a trailer... I have also contacted a couple guys local who transport, but they are super busy right now with storm removal from the tornadoes we had. My plan is to go Saturday morning, access the situation, figure out what it's going to take to get the job done and go from there. At this point, figuring out how to get it home is my challenge... Where there is a will there is a way Smile

Ok folks, we are in business! I found a willing and able partner in crime at work, he has all the resources to make this happen. I don't want to count my chickens but I'm one step closer.... Got a few pics from the owner, looks like a Willys engine :)
