Early '46, #18907, slowly being returned to totally stock configuration, and becoming roadwodthy. Answers to "Chuffy." I still need to 'put back' the column shift, going through those components next - but finally running and driving again.

Don, there is a spec of dust on the engine. Can you get on that asap please.

(I have that photo for reference and inspiration on my computer)

Haha, I'm on it. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, it looked quite a bit different in there a year ago. Old Chuffy had been 12 volted, the proper radiator was long gone (and a lot of other stuff), a solex carb had invaded, all kinds of things were wrong! But we're getting there.

I see a ratchet strap battery in the "before" photo. Available at any harbor freight and color.

Haha, yeah, Bubba had carefully installed a 12 Volt motorcycle battery, held in place by that highly desirable battery-holder-downer (technically known as a "BHD").

Sorry, no dramatic backgrounds. Rebuilt and restored with help from this forum and especially from members so gracious with their time and expertise.

That is beautiful.  Mine is #46877 - first cousins.  I would love to have a trailer like that painted Normandy Blue to match.

Thought I put this in a couple days ago but don't see it so I'll try again. Just rebuilt the starter, works much better now. It seems now that the starter works better, the engine has developed an issue. It starts, runs about one minute maybe two then dies slowly - either flooding or starving. This running issue is what made me fix the starter, it used to just barely make one turn at a time - but start and run good. So now that it cranks good I'll fix the running issue~

Here's my '47 resto-mod. The restoration ship had long sailed before I found it. Chevy 153, overdrive, D44 rear with a Power-Lok, saginaw steering and disc brakes all around.
