Wallace in front of his fav landscape- that is, anywhere out on the trail.

He found a hedgehog buddy on the ground at one of his stops. It was love at first sight.

Most of us just have parts on the shelf, but I noticed that Joe has whole Jeeps on the shelf! Wow!

I only have one CJ2A right now. It is a little rough, but it runs great, drives great, and just needs the transmission and transfer case I just finished building installed, which will happen soon.

If you can't get there in a Jeep you don't need to be there!

Hey all, this is actually the first post of my new to me CJ2A. The serial plate is pretty destroyed but I'm fairly sure it's #162xxx. I picked it up last Monday and I'm planning a fairly stock frame-off restoration over the next year or two. Not sure what the original color was yet, but I'm thinking Picket Gray with appropriate red wheels and red canvas seats will look nice.

I put the red covers from Walck's on; they're vinyl not canvas, but fit good and seem to be good quality.

Gave it it's first wash in probably decades. Been putting some miles on it before I trust it out on the trails. So far, so good. No issues except running out of gas (twice), fuel gauge fixed finally!
Went on extended run today in high 90's temps - made sure to include a couple of long steep grades. I saw maybe 195 on the temp gauge max. Most of the time it stayed 170-5 or so. Not bad for the original radiator. Working on a rear spare tire / jerry can rack.

bit of a trick to get a can and a tire on without covering the taillights. If you plan on trail riding over big rocks you might want yours higher than I built mine.

I made mine so the tailgate could still be used without removing the rack, however I used HD bullet style gate hinges so it will slide off If I need it to.

Mike,

What size tires you running on that "Rat Patrol" Jeep? They look bigger than 6.00 X 16 I have on mine.
