Please see Questions and Answers for some topics that frequently appear on this board. As you can see, this board loads rather slowly. If you are posting something for sale, please remember to include your location since someone who might otherwise be interested might not be able to use a part or a vehicle that is too far away. Posting your location when you're selling something that needs to be hauled will save everyone's time (and reduce the number of posts on this already too-slow message board). Thanks.

I have a close friend in CA who rebuilt a jeep about 10 years ago. Big brained kind of guy. He changed the ratios, and, last I knew, still had all the calculations.
If you're interested, let me know. I'm going away for 3 weeks so it may be July before I get back to you. But if you ask, I will pursue it.

BTW. I just re-read your post. If you're only getting 35 MPH, you've got something else wrong. You should get at least 15 MPH more than that, stock.

: Question for my fellow Jeepers-- I have a 46' 2A with a stock 5:38 rear end-- I would like to achieve a little more top end (above 35 mph) so I can at least drive it in town. Has anyone changed the ring & pinion gears (rear & front) on their 2A's to a lower ratio (eg: 4:18....3.20....etc)?

: I have read other posts from folks who have insalled an overdrive unit, but I don't want an additional gear shift and want to keep the appearance status quo.

: Thanks everyone--

: Chris
