Please see Questions and Answers for some topics that frequently appear on this board. As you can see, this board loads rather slowly. If you are posting something for sale, please remember to include your location since someone who might otherwise be interested might not be able to use a part or a vehicle that is too far away. Posting your location when you're selling something that needs to be hauled will save everyone's time (and reduce the number of posts on this already too-slow message board). Thanks.

: : Alright, I'm set to rebuild my steering column and gearbox and the horn components are missing. I have read all the diagrams I can get my hands on and I'm still unclear on how this wiring works. The maintenance manual says... "The horn wire passing through the steering tube connects to an insulated sleeve with a brush contat where the horn wire attaches to the steering column." ...what? I think I understand the switch at the horn button, but what is this brush stuff they're talking about? -thanks, Will

: Will,
: What I know about this is on my 3a the wire runs through the tube and out the end of the gear box to the horn and power. On my 2a the wire runs to the contacts on the column you are talking about and then to the horn and power. The brush stuff is just the way they they were made up until the 3a's is my quess.
: Have fun!!
: Mike E.

My whole whole steering assy is in pieces so I can send you photos if you like. I replaced or cleaned up everything so they'll be easy to see.
