Please see Questions and Answers for some topics that frequently appear on this board. As you can see, this board loads rather slowly. If you are posting something for sale, please remember to include your location since someone who might otherwise be interested might not be able to use a part or a vehicle that is too far away. Posting your location when you're selling something that needs to be hauled will save everyone's time (and reduce the number of posts on this already too-slow message board). Thanks.

: After having my Go Devil rebuilt to the tune of $1600, I now see before setting it in the frame that there are 2 cracks about 1in in length and hairline in width at the spacer where the generator mounts. If you're looking at the front of the engine as it sits in the Jeep, it would be the bracket that secures the FRONT part of the generator and then secures to the motor mount. If this makes no sense, pg. 19 of the CJ2A Repro service manual shows the part perfectly. Long story short, is it just a minor deal because of the generator, or major because it bears the weight of the motor? Figure you guys have probably seen this one before?

If I understand you the part in question is not part of the block. If so then it can be welded with no problem. Someone here might have one laying around. Check with some of the vendors it you want to replace it. You will however have to tear apart the the froung of the motor for a replacement. If I missunderstood and it is the block then only have a pro who knows how to weld cast iron. Bill
