Please see Questions and Answers for some topics that frequently appear on this board. As you can see, this board loads rather slowly. If you are posting something for sale, please remember to include your location since someone who might otherwise be interested might not be able to use a part or a vehicle that is too far away. Posting your location when you're selling something that needs to be hauled will save everyone's time (and reduce the number of posts on this already too-slow message board). Thanks.

: :I replaced the carter yf carb (my engine was replaced at some time with a jeepster L134 and it had the yf instead of the wo ) on my 48 back in January.
: I'm still having hard starting and I have to leave the choke out some to keep it idling. I have worked with carbs on different vehicles for years and never had trouble adjusting one to run correctly. As far as under driving conditions the solex does fine, it just won't idle without the choke pulled and no amount of adjusting has helped it. Maybe I'll just rebuild the yf and pitch the solex.

On the outside of the carb in various places are bolt heads that can be removed. These are the fuel/air jets. Pull all of them and make sure they are clean. Also make sure your crankcase vent valve is not stuck open. I have Solex carbs on 2 jeeps and they work great.
