I am wondering if the example that is on an original data plate is the proper format for my 1948 2A. It is the following: CJ2A ***** With the * being the serial No. Is this proper, or should it just be the serial number? The reason that I ask is that the numbers look like they are of two different styles.. the CJ2A looks stamped, and slightly smaller, where the serial No. is more blocky, and slightly larger.
